What is an ESMA Certificate?
The ESMA Certificate is a certificate that companies wishing to export to the United Arab Emirates must obtain. This certificate will be required by the customs authorities of the destination country for your exports, and the exported products will be prepared in accordance with the United Arab Emirates’ national standards. To expedite the certificate issuance process and reduce costs, please submit the following documents to us: a proforma invoice, and any quality certificates (CE Certificate, CB Report, Test Reports, etc.) related to the products you intend to export. After the documents requested for the certificate are sent to us, technical experts will come for inspection and the products will be examined at their location to verify compliance.
The trademark registration of the product to be ESMA certified must be obtained by the manufacturer/importer.
The EQM Certificate/ESMA Certificate certification process is as follows:
- The application form for the ESMA Certificate must be completed by the manufacturer/importer.
- The documents must be reviewed by technicians from an authorized certification body designated for ESMA certification.
- Authorized auditors must conduct inspections at the company’s production facility in accordance with the relevant standard.
- If the company’s inspections and documents comply with the relevant standards, the company is eligible to receive the ESMA/EQM Certificate.
The documents required for the ESMA Certificate are as follows:
- Trade registry gazette, company registration
- Declaration of the manufacturer/importer on letterhead
- A 1:50 scale sketch of the production area
- Samples of product labels
- ISO 9001 & (HACCP or FSMS “ISO 22000”) Certificates
- Quality plan and quality documentation
- Information on how production is carried out
