Technical Service Tests

The EEC certificate or mark is obtained as a result of approval by an authorized testing organization for motor vehicles or parts. These tests are conducted in accordance with the specific ECE standards and regulations applicable to each product.

In accordance with Directive 72/245/EEC, published in October 2002, every manufacturer wishing to export vehicle electrical and electronic equipment to the European Union market is required to have their products tested by an approved technical service in accordance with the relevant directives and to affix the E-mark to their products. These regulations published by the European Commission are referred to as ECE regulations, and the 28 member countries of the European Union have adopted these regulations. Tests are conducted at designated technical service providers based on the relevant directives under the ECE-R Regulations pertaining to the specific vehicle equipment.
