Noise Emission CE Certification
2000/14/AT- 2000/14/EC According to the Regulation on Noise Emissions from Equipment Used in Open Areas, the purpose of CE Certification is to to protect human health and contribute to the proper functioning of the internal market by establishing standards for noise emissions from equipment used in open areas, collecting technical documents and information, and determining procedures and principles for conformity assessment and marking. There are two types of classification under noise emission CE certification. All equipment intended for the transport of goods or persons by road, rail, air, or sea, including equipment designed and manufactured specifically for military, police, or emergency services, except for hand-held concrete breakers, drills, and hydraulic hammers, and non-power-driven attachments that are separately placed on the market or put into service, are excluded from the scope of this regulation.
Which equipment is subject to noise limits under the Noise Regulation 2000/14/EC?
The following product groups are subject to noise limits. A conformity assessment service must be obtained from an accredited body.
Goods lifts (internal combustion engine-driven) used for the transport of goods
Compression machines (only vibrating and non-vibrating cylinders, vibrating plates, and hammers)
Compressors (< 350 kW)
Handheld concrete breakers and drills
Construction cranes (internal combustion engine-driven)
Bulldozers (< 500 kW)
