What is an AT Type Examination Certificate? According to the relevant directive, commonly referred to as the “Horse Type Examination Certificate,” it is a certificate issued by the organization that provides the service, certifying the output of the service provided by the organization. In the CE certification process for machinery, products covered by Annex IV of the 2006/42/EC Machinery Safety Regulation are subject to mandatory AT Type Examination. The AT Type Conformity Certificate is the certification issued by an approved body following the physical inspection and testing of a sample provided to verify that the product’s design characteristics comply with the requirements of the C-type standard. The validity period of the AT Type Examination Certificate is five years. Since the CE mark is not used in conjunction with the Approved Body number under the 2006/42/EC Machinery Safety Regulation, which only issues Type Conformity Certificates under Module B, the CE mark is not used.
